How does 2048 Ventures Pre-Seed Fast Track Work?

Today we are introducing Pre-Seed Fast Track - a 2048 Ventures year-round process and a program to help early stage founders raise their Pre-Seed rounds quickly. Here is how it works:

• Submit your pitch to through  Pre-Seed Fast Track Form
• You will receive a response upon successful submission
• If your company is a potential fit, you will hear from us within a few business days
• We commit to fund you within 10 business days of our first meeting
• Our process to an offer is clear and transparent -

  • Step 1: Intro meeting via Zoom: 30 mins where you meet with 1 member of our team.
  • Step 2: Deep Dive via Zoom: 60 mins where you meet with 3-4 members of our team.
  • Step 3: References + In-Person Meeting: We will chat with your early customers and professional references, and will spend a few hours to get to know each other in person. Startups are long journeys and we know how important the investor-founder fit is, so we will gladly pay for your travel.
  • ‍Step 4: Term sheet: We make you an offer from $250K - $750K‍
  • Step 5: Wire: We are high conviction and don’t wait for the rest of the round to come together - we wire as soon as we sign the docs.

• If at any point your company is not a fit for us, we will let you know immediately. We also commit to giving you clear, no-BS reasons for why we chose not to invest
• If we do invest, we wire right away, and then tap our massive co-investor network of other Pre-Seed funds and angels to help you close the rest of your round quickly

Questions and Answers

Who is eligible?

• Any startup founder raising Pre-Seed / first round of funding is welcome to apply. If you already raised >$2M, you aren’t a fit for Fast Track.
• We will consider solo founders with strong founder market fit, but strongly prefer complete teams.
• Ideal round size is $500K - $1.5M and we will write a check for at least 1/2 of the round.

Can you write a larger check?

• Yes absolutely, we can write up to $3M checks, but that’s more like a seed round.
• We would still like to hear from you, it just might take a bit longer than 10 business days for us to get to a term sheet.

What's the catch?

• None. We are absolute straight shooters, highest reputation firm. We will do as we say.

What's it like to work with you?

• We commit 110% to you as the founder and support you from Pre-Seed to IPO.
• We work hard to become the most helpful and least annoying investor on your cap table.

How will you help me?

• We will not take a board seat at this stage, but we will take a board observer and meet with you every 2-4 weeks.
• We start by helping you pull the rest of your round together - we are world class at this and will immediately introduce you to other relevant VCs and angels and help you close out your round.
• After the round, we will help you set milestones and KPIs for next round, will help you with go-to-market, customers, pricing, and anything else you need.
• We will also help you recruit both through our network and by interviewing candidates you want us to screen.
• Once you are ready, we will open our network again to help you raise a strong Seed or Series A from top tier downstream investors.

Will this be a SAFE or a priced round?

• We prefer SAFE at this stage simply for speed, and because it is cheaper for you too.
• If it makes sense to do a priced round, we are happy to do it.

Will I get feedback on my submission?

• Unfortunately we can’t commit to doing that due to the volume of applications.
• We will give you very detailed feedback if we decide to not move forward after we’ve met.
